New Season, New Start

We are well into september and, like us, you’re probably feeling the arrival of autumn more and more.

For most of us, September marks the start of a reset, whether it’s back to school, back to work, back to routine - it almost always means that we think about a fresh start as we head into a new season.

What to think about this month…

A new month means a new cycle of training and whatever style of exercise you are currently choosing, it’s a good time to evaluate whether this is working for you. Some key questions you might like to ask yourself are:

  • Am I enjoying these sessions?

  • Am I seeing results?

  • Am I staying committed to these sessions every week?

  • Do I feel like this type of exercise is right for me?

In order for you to workout effectively and see positive results, it’s important that you are feeling good each time you exercise. We understand that exercise might not be your favourite thing to do, which is why it’s essential to find something that works for you in order to stay on track.

Things to consider this autumn…

The start of autumn is also a sign to think ahead as we move towards colder months, if you struggle with the winter then this season is the time to be preparing your body to fight the colds and viruses that will inevitably be heading our way - try these simple tips:

  • Build your immune system

Add in more fruit and veg to every meal, a good way to do this is to start making meals such as soup and stews where you can pack in the nutrients

  • Keep your water intake up

We all tend to lack attention when it comes to winter hydration, but it is just as important to keep your water intake up in winter months as it is in summer

  • Keep your meals balanced

It’s easy to opt for heavy, carb based meals in the winter when you are feeling cold and tired, think ahead and meal prep so that you are eating balanced meals and not overloading on one particularly food group.
