Sweat Together, Stay Together!

With Valentines Day just around the corner, we thought that now would be an appropriate time to share some partner exercises and some facts that we think you’ll love!

So whether it’s your Valentines or your Galentines, keep reading for some inspiration!

Going to the gym with someone can be incredibly beneficial for a number of reasons, whether you do your own things once you arrive or you also train together!

Benefit 1: It increases motivation and accountability

The hardest part about going to the gym or going out for a run is simply…. going. Once you’re over that hurdle, you’re all but guaranteed to go! So by agreeing to go with someone else, it helps to keep you motivated to go and accountable if you don’t.

Benefit 2: It gives you better workouts

By exercising with someone you know, you often end up doing more than you otherwise would have. On top of this, the person you go with will often push you along when you are struggling!

Benefit 3: It makes your workouts more enjoyable

When you are going with someone you know, you can have a laugh with them and it can make the time more fun (which in turn means you’re more likely to work harder and train more frequently)!

Now that we have covered the fun facts, let’s cover some methods for training with someone else!

Method 1: Working in your partner’s rest break

Whilst this one seems pretty simple, it’s an excellent way of saving time if you haven’t got much! One person does their first set of an exercise and then whilst they’re resting, the second person then does their set - alternating each time.

Method 2: Side-By-Side

Doing an exercise side-by-side with someone else can help not only to motivate you, but it can help to make sure that you’re pacing yourself correctly as many people accidentally go through the movements too fast.

Method 3: Circuit Training

Running through a circuit can not only help to save you time in your workouts, but it also helps to boost motivation! By changing your exercise regularly you end up making it a lot more enjoyable as it won’t become monotonous.
